Sugar Refinery

Our Hydrated Lime is widely used in the production of sugar to purify sugar. It occludes organic impurities such as the gums, amino acids and colour components, removing them from the sugar syrup.



Hydrated Lime helps to increase pH level from a natural acid level of 5.0 – 6.5 to a neutral pH. It also reacts with the impurities to form insoluble calcium organics compounds that can be removed.

Our Hydrated Lime is suitable for both sugar beets and sugar cane.
